This is one of the easiest ways to prepare okra. And, no, it will not be slimy. I promise.

All you need is one bag of frozen whole okra, oil, salt and pepper.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Take the okra straight from the freezer and toss with oil, salt and pepper. Spread out evenly on a baking sheet. Be sure not to crowd. Leave a few inches between each okra. Crowding can cause vegetables to become mushy. 

Bake the okra in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes. You many need or want to turn the okra about halfway through using tongs. The okra is done when heated through and has turned a golden brown just like in the picture.

This makes a wonderful side dish. You can also toss this with other roasted vegetables. My favorite pairing is with roasted canned artichoke hearts. You could also toss this with rice for a more hearty meal. This recipe along with other can be found in the following book:
